Frequently Asked Questions about the St. John the Baptist Gala

What is the gala?

The St. John the Baptist Annual Gala is the only fundraiser of the year for our church and school. The funds we raise at the gala are vital to supporting our ongoing mission, and to growing the reach of that mission.

Besides being a fundraiser, it is also a night out with the whole St. John’s community where we get to celebrate all that God is doing here at SJB, and enjoy one another’s company.

Why is it called, “A Night of Hope”?

Our world is greatly in need of hope. It’s clear that our world is struggling, and straying further and further away from what is good, true, and beautiful. What’s the answer? Jesus and His Church. The Catholic Church “is the visible plan of God’s love for humanity,” (Catechism, 776). Here at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish, we offer to the world this reality, the reality of Jesus and His Church.

Our parish’s mission statement is to know, love, serve and share Christ through worship, teaching, stewardship, and witness. We offer what each human heart longs for. We offer hope that does not disappoint.

Why should I attend the gala?

You get the chance to experience, and celebrate, our community here at St. John’s. You also get to be a part of our mission, and help grow it. By participating in the gala by donating, sponsoring, or attending, you directly support our mission, and help expand our reach. Lastly, it is simply a fun and elegant night out with family and friends.

What should I wear?

Attire for the evening is semi-formal, or cocktail attire.
